Ivory Simone

Ivory Simone is the pen name of writer Lola Rainey. Ms. Rainey has published a book of literary fiction and a book of poetry under this pseudonym: Havasu Means Blue Water, (literary fiction), and, "The Rainy Season, The Poems, Prose and Writings of Ivory Simone", (a poetry chapbook).  Ms. Rainey is currently working on a poetry manuscript tentatively entitled, "Pilgrimage to the Blue Nile" which will be published under her pen name.

While living in Bangkok, Thailand, Ms. Rainey produced a weekly podcast, "Bangkok Poetry Streams", and hosted two online radio shows, "Take A Bite Out Of The Big Mango" and  "My Sister's Keeper", using the name Ivory Simone. Some of the archived episodes are available on Sound Cloud. (Click on the link below).

Ms. Rainey readily admit works which show her edgier, more introspective side are more likely to be published in her pen name. In keeping with this pattern, she's compiling a collection of urban horror stories that will be published as an e-book in 2013. An excerpt from one of the stories in the collection is presented in the Word Gallery section of this website.
